Why Rockwool for Pitched Roof
ROCKWOOL insulation products provide the best solution for pitched roofs in all buildings types. The insulation has many unique elements for over, between and under the rafters
Thermal
ROCKWOOL insulation derives its excellent thermal properties from tiny pockets of air trapped within the physical structure of the stone wool. ROCKWOOL insulation products keep the heat out and keep the indoor temperature cooler for longer periods. It retains its shape and thickness even under extreme conditions. In over the rafter applications – the insulation effectively cuts For more information please click here
Acoustics
ROCKWOOL stone wool products are among the most used and most effective acoustic insulators used in construction. Thanks to the air pockets between the fibres, ROCKWOOL stone wool provides good sound absorption and reduces noise vibrations. It is used in ceilings, noise screens, around noisy machines, in outer walls, between rooms, roofs and floors to protect against noise and vibrations and to improve the indoor acoustic comfort.

Perfect fit
Insulation needs to deliver good thermal performance and avoid unplanned thermal bridges. It is not enough to have a product with a good thermal performance, if it is difficult to install it without gaps, cracks or other insulation errors in the final construction. Therefore the insulation must be easy to install to achieve an exact fit in the construction.

Water repellence
All ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation products are water repellent. When exposed to water or rain, ROCKWOOL stone wool can sometimes look like it is wet. In fact water does not penetrate the products. It is only the surface which gets wet, and subsequently dries out, because the fibres of ROCKWOOL stone wool are water repellent. The impregnation of ROCKWOOL stone wool fibres to ensure water repellency is throughout the product, not just on the surface.
This is one reason why water cannot get into the core of ROCKWOOL slabs other than by the use of increased pressure. Even if water is experimentally pressed into the core of a ROCKWOOL product, after a certain time the water evaporates and the fibres dry out, as the material itself is highly diffusion open. After drying out, the ROCKWOOL slab completely recovers its thermal conductivity properties being the same as it was before the contact with water or moisture |
